Alert Rules and the API in General

I am finding it very difficult to figure out how to create alert rules from the api - the docs for the api are pretty poor to be honest. The example json means not a lot to most people.

Any chance you can show me how to create alert rules with an example that doesn’t contain json like the samples. the same json is next to useless.

sorry you’re getting blocked on alerting:

  • What is your Grafana version?
  • Are you using Grafana Cloud or self-hosted Grafana?
  • Are you using legacy alerting or the Unified Alerting platform that is enabled by default for new Grafana instances running Grafana 8.3 or higher?
