Grafana 7.0.x Time Format overrides not working (very sparse)

Hi there,

I recently upgrade to Grafana 7.0.3 and am currently creating a dashboard showing the daily power consumption for the house.
I also added a “Stat”, showing the day of highest power consumption. Unfortunately the date is display as “YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss”. I just like to show the date here, no hours, no minutes. There a two predefined time Formats available under “Unit” on the override tab. Choosing either one, only displays the time in above format.
I entered a custom string into the “Unit” field as “YYYY-MM-DD”, but it has no effect.

Am I missing something here? How can I only show the date?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is no need to comment that issue in the GitHub. It is already opened and it has assigned milestone 7.1 = watch the issue and test it when it is marked as resolved in the release notes.
