Grafana UI theme stuck on light

I set my UI theme to light a couple days ago, I would like to change it back to dark, but now, when I select “Dark” in Preferences>>UI Theme nothing happens. I have tried reloading the page multiple times to no avail. The selection of Dark remains though so it’s clearly been taken into account but it’s not changing the display.

Am I missing something?

Answering my own question in case anyone else has this problem:
it was in the user preferences at the bottom left, not the dashboard preferences
