The (new) “Time series” panel has the left axis units clipped when there is no label. The “Graph(old)” does not have this problem.
Is there a workaround for this?

changes between the graph and time-series panel are a common topic. I would search this forum and the github repo for similar y-axis-related issues
Unfortunately it’s seems to be apparent the people who contribute to Grafana don’t actually work with / monitor real scientific data, they just like turning their data into pretty pictures so when the non-IT guys walk into their server room it looks like they’re doing something important.
Time series panel has been out forever now and y-axis tick spacing is still awful and the old graph panel just looks better in general still yet they deprecate the old graph panel? Luckily you can get around it being deprecated if you have it saved as a library panel or by copypasting other graph(old)s from your dashboards, and surprise surprise the panel still works perfectly fine.
And just when you think it can’t get any worse, now the clicked item drops to the bottom of the list making it completely a PITA to toggle for comparison.
