Hi, I’m brand new to Grafana/Prometheus (as in 2-3 days of use) and so I realize this will be a ‘noob’ question.
I set up a host to be monitored using NodeExporter and it showed up in Grafana just fine. However, we did not like the long name that it was using, so I changed it a much shorter hostname. Now however, that same host is showing up twice, once with the original very long hostname and second with the new short hostname. I read on here that it has to be removed from Prometheus, but a colleague of mine says it does not show up twice in Prometheus, only in Grafana. We are using ver 6.2.5 of Grafana.
Please help me understand where I’m going wrong, I would appreciate any type of guidance.
