Need to edit email alert template

I just don’t want to receive any un-necessary Value (var & metric) on my alerts. Is there any way to edit my email template, so that just I want to receive machine name in email alert template.

You’d need to use templating in your alerts.

I wrote a beginner’s article on this. Hope it helps.
