Stat visualization missing graph

In grafana 7.5.9 the stat visualization shows the value and a graph of the values under it.

upgraded to grafana 8.2.1 now the graph is gone and only the value shows in the stat visualization.

Is this a bug? am i missing a setting? anyone else have this issue?

Do you see the sparkline option? Is it on?
