Variable Query returns no values

I am trying to create a variable from a query.
The data is hosted in Amazon Time stream.
When I use explore with the same query as the image attached, I get values.
However- when I use the query as my variables, I do not receive any values (second image).
What is causing the variable to not populate with any values?

Hi,

Did you try to just use the wellname as value not query (i think you should get unique drop-list)

I do not have value as an option, where would I select WellName as a value?
