Grafana Cloud + Postgres

First time using Grafana Cloud.

I have a postgres DB on my laptop. I want to connect Grafana Cloud to this DB. The connection fails.

In the Grafana cloud data source config I’m using localhost:5432, etc.

Im not clear about how the grafana cloud instance is suppose to talk to my local DB. Does the DB need to be publicly reachable for grafana cloud to reach it?

@tjw74 Yes, it does. You will need a static IP address and open firewall ports for Grafana Cloud to reach your local database.

I would suggest using a dedicated Postgres instance from any Cloud provider, or https://supabase.com is a friendly alternative instead.
