Grafana v7.5.x has new ‘Selected’ option in the variables drop-down list which allows user to clear the selections. It can be used to select and unselect the options in the list. When the Variables has Multi-value select and All option enabled, the ‘Selected’ option basically clear all the selection passing a null value in the query which this variables are used. This causes the query to fails send a error message saying there is a mistake in the query.
In ideal scenario, the native plugins shows No Data in the panels. But while using custom panels the error message is highlighted as an error in the query.
