How to use OOB provisioned dashboards and datasources, for newly created organizations

Hi,

With Grafana Provisioning feature , we can specify which datasources and dashboards to be auto provisioned. How can we re use this auto provisioned dashboards and datasources for organisations that are created after provisioning is done,

Can anyone please provide a helpful response over here

I’m not quite sure I understand the problem.

With Grafana Provisioning feature , we can specify which datasources and

Indeed, I use this and it works very well.

How can we re use this auto provisioned dashboards and datasources for
organisations that are created after provisioning is done,

Simply update the dashboard or data source with the new information, and do
the auto-provisioning step again.

If I have misunderstood, please explain in a little bit more detail what you
are trying to do and in what way it fails to meet expectations.

Antony.

Hi Pooh,

Yes you have understood it correctly, but here we can’t update YAML files of dashboards and datasources manually and run reload API or auto-provisioning. Because our server is deployed in production, organisation is created automatically with external script so when the organisation is created we need provisioned dashboards and datasources also comes to newly created organisation.

Per day there will be 10-15 organisations getting created, so we are not sure when this will be done to manually update YAML files.

I wasn’t expecting that.

and run reload API or auto-provisioning. Because our server is deployed in

So get that script to update the YAML files and re-run the provisioning
process.

so when the organisation is created we need provisioned dashboards and
datasources also comes to newly created organisation.

Sounds like integrating the two is the ideal solution.

sure when this will be done to manually update YAML files.

I would never want to have to do that sort of update manually to start with

Antony.
