I noticed that Grafana stores rendered PNG in its data directory when using the [Direct link rendered image] link. Is there any way to enable Grafana to serve these pre-rendered images instead of rendering them again?

No, that’s not supported. The rendered images are only stored for a short time before they’re deleted.
