Passing in variables via external URL

Got ~100K elements in a TS DB, a JSON based plugins that will create the ‘standard’ customer dashboards and I can happily link to those from an external site… However, if I want to link from another site and pass in just the element I want to look at I can’t work out how to do that.

Any pointers
