Going from 6.1.6 installed from RPM to 9.x from YUM repository. I’m sure some things will break, and that’s okay, I’ll figure that out. Just looking to understand, what all needs to migrate so that I can move us to the newest version without losing everything we’ve built. Has anyone done this before?

What Grafana version and what operating system are you using?
v6.1.6 (commit: cf9cb45)
Rocky Linux 8.5 -
What are you trying to achieve?
I’d like to update to a newer/latest version of Grafana without losing dashboards and playlists. -
How are you trying to achieve it?
I tried adding the YUM repo and installing the Enterprise version. -
What happened?
Installed successfully, started successfully but when logged in it still appears to be running 6.1.6 -
What did you expect to happen?
Actually, I expected to get some kind of error about config files not matching, or something indicating that the new version couldn’t grab port 3000 or something like that. But it would have been really awesome if it just worked. -
Can you copy/paste the configuration(s) that you are having problems with?
Irrelevant. -
Did you receive any errors in the Grafana UI or in related logs? If so, please tell us exactly what they were.
Nothing interesting. -
Did you follow any online instructions? If so, what is the URL?
Just the standard installation instructions from grafana.com
